Activities

Swimming

The sea is warm and clear with tiny 40 centimetre tides. Currents are usually small - between 1/2 and 4 knots. Surface sea temperatures range from 24 degrees C. to about 10 degrees C. in the winter.

There is a beach in front of the villa.

 

Diving

There is a diving club in Orebic Telephone 713-985, and also in Viganj Telephone 719-079. You must buy a licence (100 Kuna) and be qualified. Courses are widely available. The book “Recreational Diving in Croatia” is published by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

Sailing

There is a club in Korcula where you can hire 420 racing dinghies and a Hobie catamaran

 

Wind Surfing

This is regarded as one of the best areas in Croatia for the sport and their National Championships are held here at the end of July. Boards are available for hire nearby, and lessons given at

Camp Perna and at Viganj

 

Fishing

Bass and bream are plentiful. Big game fishing for amberjack, swordfish and dentex (zubatac)

Climbing

Sv. Ilija is the 961 metre mountain behind the villa. The mountains form a chain called the Dinarides and normally have plateaux rather than ridges. There is a well marked path from Perna which can take you to the top of the mountain in less than three hours. The reward is fabulous views often including Italy. There is also good climbing on Losinj, Brac, Pag and Rab.

Panorama flights in small single engined planes are possible.
