The Area

The Pelješac Peninsula stretches for 90 kilometres from Ston to Lovište and is both unspoiled and incredibly beautiful.

The local economy is predominantly agriculture and tourism and there are hundreds of vineyards throughout the area. Perhaps the best known being Dingac.

Ston and Mali Ston are the first two settlements one arrives at on the peninsula. 59 kilometres north-west of Dubrovnik, Ston is an important salt producing town and boasts the longest fortification in Europe in the shape of a 5 kilometre wall started in 1333. The oyster beds of Mali Ston are well worth a visit as is the restaurant there.
